What a day yesterday! We got the keys to our new mansion and excitedly ran around for an hour, imagining our things in every corner. It’s big, and gorgeous, and has the biggest bbq ever.
As we’re still waiting for our furniture, we couldn’t really do much there, so decided to make the most of the beautiful weather and drive up to San Francisco, armed with warm clothes of course – the difference in temperature between San Fran and where we are based is quite a lot – 5 degrees Celsius yesterday. But the sun was out, and we saw the city in all its gorgeous colours. Wandered along the piers to Fisherman’s Wharf (which is a garish tourist mecca but has to be done when you go there for the first time), were tempted to hire a bicycle and cycle the Golden Gate Bridge (but then didn’t because F and E wanted ride the cable cars). So that’s what we did, took a cable car up and down the hills over to Union Square with all its shops. This is a fun and interesting way to explore the city, the girls loved it (even though F was very worried (see photo) that her Daddy might fall off.
