Ah, another hard day at the beach… Gorgeous weather, blue skies and a long weekend – where better to go than the coast! And about time we discovered our part of the Pacific coast a bit more. Yesterday it was the beach at Pacifica, just south of San Francisco, where S dug out his boogie board for the first time in a hundred years, the girls ran around like nutters and splashed in the waves, and I managed to read another 50 pages of the Stieg Larsson trilogy. Bliss. And more of that today, this time Venice Beach in Half Moon Bay. It’s still really hot outside, the girls are out on their bikes with their friends round the corner and I have a few peaceful moments to myself.
By the way, we’ll have been here 6 months soon, and I STILL don’t have my Employment Authorization. Although everything was supplied correctly, for some unfathomable reason things got delayed, and because they got delayed, everything had to be submitted AGAIN. The Americans are obviously trying to keep me from stealing some honest citizen’s job in this country. It’s such a pain to get any bureaucractic issue sorted when you’re an “alien”, it seriously puts you off. And you know what? I really feel like stealing someone’s job now.
